Ukraine imposes sanctions for deportation of Ukrainian children from the occupied territories

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy bring to effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council regarding sanctions against a number of legal entities and individuals involved in the deportation of Ukrainian children from the occupied territories.

37 charitable organizations of the Russian Federation and 100 individuals associated with them were included in the list of sanctions.

Russia's Commissioner for Children's Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, is among sanctioned individuals. Earlier this year, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for her and Russia's President Putin for the unlawful deportation of children from Ukraine to Russia.

Sanctions include the blocking of assets, restriction of trade operations, termination of trade agreements, ban on acquiring ownership of land plots, ban on activities on the territory of Ukraine and more.

The restrictions will be valid for five years.
