A new national campaign “Let’s Bring Ukrainian Children Home” has been launched to help find and bring home Ukrainian children abducted by Russia. The campaign focuses on building a unified DNA database of relatives of missing children.
Ukrainian families are encouraged to report cases of missing, deported, or forcibly transferred children to the Specialized Centers for Missing Persons and to submit DNA samples. These samples will help identify children and restore family connections in the future.
“Returning children abducted by the occupiers is an extremely complex and lengthy process,” said Maryana Reva, Director of the Communications Department at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. “This campaign is a call to action. If you know of a deported or missing child, speak up. If you may be a relative, provide a DNA sample. Your action could reconnect a child with their homeland.”
A detailed action guide for citizens and regional support center contacts is available on the official website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The information campaign is implemented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Commissioner for Missing Persons under Special Circumstances, the National Police of Ukraine, and the President’s initiative Bring Kids Back UA in cooperation with the International Commission on Missing Persons, with the support of the governments of the Netherlands and Canada.
