A bipartisan group of U.S. Senators has introduced a resolution demanding the unconditional return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia as a precondition for any peace agreement with the Russian Federation.
The resolution, led by Senators Chuck Grassley (Republican) and Amy Klobuchar (Democrat), strongly condemns Russia’s systematic deportation, forced transfer, and illegal adoption of Ukrainian children — war crimes that violate international humanitarian law, including the Geneva and Genocide Conventions.
It emphasizes that these actions are part of a broader effort by the Russian regime to erase the identity of Ukrainian children and sever their ties to their homeland.
The resolution has also been supported by Senators Joni Ernst, Dick Durbin, Roger Wicker, John Fetterman, and Rick Scott.
The Bring Kids Back UA initiative welcomes this powerful and principled statement. As reiterated by U.S. lawmakers: there can be no just or lasting peace without the return of every Ukrainian child.
