On July 2, Hilton Singapore Orchard hosted a significant event: the presentation of the "Living the War: Children during the Russian war against Ukraine" book. This poignant book captures the stories, photos, and drawings of Ukrainian children, highlighting the profound impact of the Russian full-scale invasion on the most vulnerable members of society.
Following successful presentations in Kyiv and Brussels, the Singapore event marked the book’s first presentation outside of Europe. The event was held under the auspices of the Singapore Press Club and saw the participation of up to 45 journalists from leading international and Singaporean media outlets. Esteemed representatives from The Wall Street Journal, CNA, Nikkei, Sun Media, The Straits Times, AFP, and Bloomberg News were among those present.
The presentation featured remarks from the Ambassador of Ukraine to Singapore, Kateryna Zelenko, who underscored the importance of sharing these children's stories with the world to raise awareness and garner support for Ukraine.
This event not only provided an opportunity for the international press to learn more about the war in Ukraine but also reinforced the global solidarity with Ukrainian children. The powerful narratives and visuals in the book serve as a testament to the resilience and courage of these young individuals amid the challenges imposed by war.
